Beyond Conflict Book

 The Assignment:

To create an annual-report-like book showcasing the work MercyCorps did with micro-entrepreneurs in Kyrgyzstan – helping people in the south of the country recover from the violence in 2010.

The concept of distributing cash parcels was relatively new, however with their partner Kompanion’s knowledge of the entrepreneurs in need, MercyCorps was able to help numerous business re-establish in a way that didn’t follow the usual NGO procurement pattern.

Challenges:

• Quality – The report was going to be read by large donors in America and other countries. The print, design and photography had to tell the story in an engaging way and stand up to the scrutiny of organisations including Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
